"In my position, I see a lot of daycare centres. York Enrichment Childcare Centre is a beautiful place, a wonderful place. The founder, Nelli Hooper is very enthusiastic and she has a dedicated staff. Nelli has invested her time, money and emotions into creating this amazing centre. The centre has nice new furniture, it is very well equipped and everything is extremely clean. It is a beautiful location almost in the countryside where there is the luxury of space. Betina and Steven: Amazed to see the things their daughter is learning.

"Since our daughter started at YECC in March 2007, it’s amazing to see the things she has learned. After being home with her for over two years, it was hard for me to let go. But after two short weeks she (and I) adjusted and now YECC is like her second home. She simply loves the place, the teachers and her little friends. Her vocabulary has increased tremendously, she now sings for us, knows her shapes and colours. For example, one day when my husband was eating Toblerone, she told him, 'Daddy, it’s a triangle.' She is very polite and says please and thank you - something that pleases you to hear as a parent.

The teachers at YECC are very loving and the environment is very homey We looked around in the area for a good place for our daughter, and we were pleasantly surprised at YECC. The schedule with play and learning and nutritious food, naptime and fresh air meets and exceeds the wishes we had and I am proud to say when people ask me where my daughter is in kindergarten that it is with Nelli and her staff at YECC.

Just that we are able to drop by or call at anytime is very reassuring - especially in the beginning, because that shows that as a parent, you are always welcome and nothing "goes on behind closed doors" I had many questions in the beginning, but I feel that I always get satisfying answers and never that there was no time for a talk with either Nelli or the teachers. The smile on my daughter’s face when she proudly shows me something she made or is doing when I come to pick her up says more that 1000 words."

"We looked around at other centres and when we went to York Enrichment Childcare Centre, we were very impressed with Nelli. The other centres seemed a bit cold and too institutional. We knew that the transition from home to a daycare setting was going to be a difficult transition for our then extremely shy daughter. It was important to us to find a daycare that provided for more than just her basic needs. From the moment we met Nelli and saw the centre, we got a warm, welcoming feeling. We knew right away from the way Nelli talked to our daughter and by how she described the centre, that YECC was just the place to register her. And we have been proved right! Of course it is wonderful to not have to worry about making sure she gets enough fresh air or that she eats well. But what is really important to us is the fact that she comes home happy every night! She looks forward to telling us all about the day’s activities. Since starting at YECC, her social skills and communication skills have blossomed. It is because of the exciting activities the teachers plan. Our daughter especially loves the drama and the dance classes. Our formerly shy daughter now comes home and shows us her new dance steps and acts out parts from the drama. She was also very excited about the sewing they learned and she really enjoys all the crafts that they do. The programs at YECC really make the difference."
